For someone who has gone away, people ask for Come Back to Me, Think of Me or Call Me. Couples who want to stay close use Marriage or Stay at Home. Lodestone and Hummingbird are old favorites that many families still keep.
St. Anthony is asked for help finding a good partner, and Our Lady of Charity and Oshún are honored for love and sweetness. Red and pink candles are traditional for love, and Friday, the day of Venus, is the usual day to begin.
How people use them
- On a candle
- On a Friday, put a few drops on top of a red or pink seven-day candle. Some people place two small photos face to face under the glass.
- With a written prayer or photo
- Write the person's full name on a small piece of paper, add a drop of honey and a drop of oil, fold it toward you and set it under the candle.
- On charm bags, stones and medals
- Put a drop on a lodestone or on a small cloth charm bag with rose petals, and add another drop every Friday.
- On doors and windows
- For love at home, put a drop on each side of the bedroom door frame.
