About this oil

Venus is named for the Roman goddess of love and beauty. People use her oil when they want love to come gently: a new romance after a long time alone, a sweeter mood between a couple, or simply feeling lovely and wanted again. It is the soft side of the love oils, more about tenderness and grace than passion.

Friday is her day; in Spanish, viernes comes from the name of Venus. Her candle is pink, and many people set fresh pink or white flowers beside it. The dove and the seashell are her old symbols, from the story of her rising out of the sea. A small mirror on the altar is another of her traditional signs. The oil is pink.

Ways to use

On a candle: On a Friday, put a few drops on a pink seven-day candle and set fresh pink or white flowers next to the glass.
With a written prayer or photo: Write in a few words the kind of love you are hoping for. Put a drop on each corner, fold it toward you and keep it under the candle.
On charm bags, stones and medals: Put a drop on a small seashell or a rose quartz stone and keep it on your nightstand or in your purse. Add a drop every Friday.
In mop water and around the house: Put a few drops on a cotton ball and set it in a corner of your bedroom, so the room feels soft and welcoming.
