About this oil
Desperation, Desespero in Spanish, is for when someone has gone quiet and the waiting has gone on too long: a partner who left without a word, a person who stopped calling, someone who seems to have forgotten you. In the tradition it is used to ask that the person feel your absence, think of you and come looking for you.
It is usually used at night, with a red candle for love or a purple one, and the person's photograph or name under the glass. Many people light it at the hour they used to talk, and say the name three times. Its old companion is Intranquil Spirit. The oil is purple, with a warm ylang and ginger scent.
Ways to use
- On a candle
- At night, at the hour you used to talk, put a few drops on a red or purple seven-day candle and say the person's name three times.
- With a written prayer or photo
- Write the person's name on a piece of paper and, under it, a few plain words: "remember me, look for me." Put a drop on it, fold it toward you and keep it under the candle.
- On charm bags, stones and medals
- If you still have something the person gave you, a letter, a ring box or a small gift, put a drop on it and keep it next to the candle while it burns.
