About this oil
Fire of Love is the oil people use when a relationship still has love in it but the warmth has gone out: years of bills and work, a new baby, a long rough patch. People reach for it to bring the spark back, so the two of them look forward to seeing each other again. It is for keeping a fire going, not for starting one with a stranger.
Its candle is red, and the tradition lights it on a Friday, the day of love. Many people light it in the evening, with a red rose in a glass of water beside it. A heart with a flame rising from it is the old sign for this kind of love. The oil is red, with a rose scent.
Ways to use
- On a candle
- On a Friday evening, put a few drops on a red seven-day candle. Light it at the hour the two of you used to go out together.
- With a written prayer or photo
- Write both names on one paper and draw a small flame over them. Put a drop on each corner, fold it toward you and keep it under the candle.
- In mop water and around the house
- Put a few drops on a cotton ball and set it in a corner of the room where you spend your evenings together.
- On charm bags, stones and medals
- Put a drop on a small red cloth bag holding something from your early days together, like a ticket stub or a dried flower, and add a drop every Friday.
