About this oil
Stay at Home is the oil people use when a partner keeps drifting away from the house: out late every night, always at a friend's place, gone every weekend. People reach for it when the house feels empty even though the relationship is still there. Some also use it for a grown son or daughter who is never home.
The tradition centers this oil on the front door and the doorstep, the place a person has to cross to leave. Its candle is purple, and some people add a blue one to keep the house calm in the meantime. It is often used in the evening, around the hour the person usually goes out. The oil is purple, with a warm ylang and ginger scent.
Ways to use
- On doors and windows
- In the evening, before the person usually leaves, put a drop on each side of the front door frame, on the inside, and a thin line along the doorstep.
- On a candle
- Put a few drops on a purple seven-day candle and set the person's photo under the glass, facing into the house.
- With a written prayer or photo
- Write the person's name on a small paper, and under it the words "stay at home." Put a drop on each corner, fold it toward you and keep it under the candle.
- In mop water and around the house
- Add a few drops to the mop water and mop from the front door toward the back of the house, to call the person's attention back inside.
