About this oil
Don't Forget Me is for the days before a goodbye. People reach for it when they have to leave someone they love for a while: a job out of state, a move, military service, a long trip home to family. They ask to stay in that person's memory, with a faithful love, until they come back. It is used by the one who leaves and by the one who stays.
The name comes from the forget-me-not, a small flower long tied to remembrance and faithful love. In the old story, "forget me not" were a lover's last words. Its candle is pink, for a sweet and steady love, and many people light it the night before they leave. The oil is pink.
Ways to use
- On charm bags, stones and medals
- Before you go, put a drop on a keepsake to leave with the person: a letter, a ribbon, a small medal. Many people keep a matching one for themselves, so each of you holds one.
- With a written prayer or photo
- Write both your names on the back of a photo of the two of you. Put a drop on each corner and keep it with your things while you are away.
- On a candle
- The night before you leave, put a few drops on a pink seven-day candle and say both your names over it.
