About this salt
Peace salt is for the days after a quarrel. Two brothers who stopped speaking, a mother and daughter at odds, neighbors fighting over a fence, a job where nobody gets along. People use it to cool tempers and make room to talk again, at home or at work. It is for the person who wants to make peace and doesn't know how to begin.
After a fight in the house, many add a pinch of salt to the mop water and mop from the back of the house to the front door, so the anger goes out with the water. Then a little salt goes in the corners of the room where the shouting happened. At a shop or an office where nobody gets along, a pinch goes at the doorway in the morning, before the others arrive, and a small dish can sit by the register.
Sweep the corners out the front door after seven days. If the trouble keeps on, put down fresh salt the next Monday, so the new week starts calm. Its old sign is the dove with the olive branch, the one that came back to Noah's ark. Its candles are blue and white, and many keep a glass of fresh water beside them.
Ways to use
- Mopping out the fight
- Add a pinch to the mop water and mop from the back of the house to the front door. Throw the water out to the street.
- The corners of the room
- Put a little in the corners of the room where the arguing happened. Sweep it out the front door after seven days.
- At work
- Sprinkle a pinch at the shop or office door in the morning, before anyone else comes in.
- On a Monday
- If the quarrel goes on, put down fresh salt on Monday and light a blue candle with a glass of water beside it.
Goes with
Put a few drops of Peace oil on a blue candle with the names of the two people side by side under it, and keep the salt at the door. Peace at Home comes next when the quarrel was under your own roof, and Peaceful Mind is for the evening after a bad day.
