About this oil
Jesús Malverde is a folk saint from Culiacán, Sinaloa, known as the angel of the poor. The Church has not named him a saint, but his devotion is old and wide. People come to him when work dries up, when the money does not stretch to the end of the month, or when a relative far from home needs someone watching over them.
His feast day is May 3, when his chapel in Culiacán fills with flowers, music and people keeping their promises. The walls are covered with small plaques of thanks. His colors are green and white. Devotees keep his picture or statue on the home altar with fresh flowers and a glass of water. The oil is green, with a fresh clover scent.
Ways to use
- On the altar and saint statues
- Put a drop on the base of his statue or on the corners of his picture, and on the green candle in front of him.
- On a candle
- When you are looking for work, put a few drops on a green seven-day candle and set your written request under the glass.
- With offerings
- When the favor comes, give thanks. Put a drop on the flowers you bring him, or on a white candle lit in gratitude.
- In your wallet or business
- Put a drop on the first pay you receive from a new job, then keep that bill folded by his picture.
