About this oil
Guardian Angel is the oil people use to ask the guardian angel to watch over someone: a new baby, a child starting school, a teenager learning to drive, a son or daughter living far away. Many grew up saying the guardian angel prayer at bedtime and still teach it to their grandchildren. Parents and grandparents buy it more than anyone.
The Church keeps the feast of the Holy Guardian Angels on October 2. The candle is white or light blue. Many families hang a guardian angel picture over a child's bed and keep a small angel medal in the car. The oil is clear, with a frankincense and myrrh scent, the smell of church incense.
Ways to use
- On the altar and saint statues
- Put a drop on the corners of the guardian angel picture or holy card by the child's bed. Do it again on October 2 and on the child's birthday.
- On a candle
- Put a few drops on a white or light blue seven-day candle, with the child's name under the glass. Say the guardian angel prayer when you light it.
- In the car
- When a son or daughter starts driving, put a drop on the angel medal kept in their glove box, and on each tire before a long trip.
