About this oil
Death Be Gone is the oil people use to keep restless spirits away from the house. People reach for it after a funeral, when they move into a place where someone passed away, or when the house feels heavy: a door that won't stay shut, one room that always feels cold, children who don't want to be alone at night.
It goes with a white candle and a glass of clear water, and many people pray for the soul while it burns: an Our Father or a rosary. The idea is to send the spirit on its way with respect, not with fear. Most people do it in the evening. The oil is clear, with a frankincense and myrrh scent.
Ways to use
- On doors and windows
- After the funeral or the move, put a drop at the top of every door frame and in the corners of each windowsill, then a line across the front doorstep.
- In mop water and around the house
- Add a few drops to the mop water and mop from the back of the house toward the front door. Throw the water out the door and pray as you do it.
- On a candle
- Put a few drops on a white seven-day candle and set a glass of clear water beside it. Change the water every day until the candle burns out.
