About this oil
Black Cat is the gambler's oil. People buy it before a lottery drawing, a bingo night or a weekend at the casino. They also use it when a run of bad luck won't end. It turns the old superstition around: here the black cat is on your side.
Black Cat is a night oil, used the evening before the game. Many players start it while the moon is growing, the time the tradition keeps for anything meant to grow. Its candle is black, with a green one beside it for luck. People keep it with a lucky coin, dice or a small charm bag for gambling. The oil is purple, with a warm, sweet scent of ylang and ginger.
Ways to use
- On charm bags, stones and medals
- Before you play, put a drop on a lucky coin, the lottery ticket or a small cloth charm bag (a mojo bag) that you carry for gambling. Add a few more drops to the bag the night before each game.
- In your wallet or business
- Put a drop on the corners of the wallet that holds your playing money. Keep that money apart from the rent.
- On a candle
- To end a bad streak, put a few drops on a black or purple candle and spread the oil away from you, pushing the bad luck out. When it burns out, do the same on a green candle, but spread the oil toward you, to call the luck back in.
- In mop water and around the house
- When bad luck has settled in the house, add a few drops to a bucket of mop water. Mop from the back of the house to the front door, then throw the water outside.
