About this oil

Jinx Removing is the oil people reach for when bad luck won't let go. One thing breaks after another, the money slips away, every plan falls through, and nobody can say why. Some feel someone gave them the evil eye or wished them harm. People use this oil to lift that bad luck and clear it out of the house.

Jinx Removing goes with a white candle. People use it while the moon is waning, growing smaller each night, which the tradition keeps for sending things away. Saturday is a common day for it. It goes with rue and hyssop, the old cleansing herbs, and with a line of salt at the door. The oil is clear, with a frankincense and myrrh scent.

Ways to use

In mop water and around the house
Start here. Add a few drops to a bucket of mop water, mop from the back of the house to the front door, and throw the water out past the doorstep, away from the house.
On a candle
On a Saturday while the moon is waning, put a few drops on a white seven-day candle. Keep a sprig of rue beside it until it burns out.
On doors and windows
Once the floor is dry, draw a small cross with the oil on the front door frame. Then run a line of oil along the doorstep so the bad luck stays out.
On charm bags, stones and medals
If you keep an azabache, the black jet charm against the evil eye, or a saint medal, put a fresh drop on it once the house is clear.
