About this oil

Customer Drawing is the shop owner's oil. It is used to ask for customers and steady sales. Think of the restaurant on a quiet street, the taco truck, the salon chair that sits empty on Tuesdays, the stall at the swap meet. Owners pick it up on opening day, when a slow season starts, or when a new competitor opens down the block.

Owners use it on Monday morning before the doors open, and again on the first of the month. Many keep San Martín Caballero over the register. He is the saint on horseback who shared his cloak with a poor man, and people leave him a glass of water and some greens for his horse. Its candles are gold and green. The oil is gold.

Ways to use

In your wallet or business
Before you open on Monday, put a drop on the shop door frame and on the four corners of the register. Put one more drop on the first bill you take in that day.
In mop water and around the house
Add a few drops to a bucket of water and mop the front step and entrance, from the sidewalk in toward the counter. This marks the way in for whoever walks by.
On the altar and saint statues
Put a few drops on San Martín Caballero's candle and on the base of his statue. Change his water and his greens every Monday.
On a candle
On opening day or the first of the month, put a few drops on a gold seven-day candle. Set a business card or the day's first receipt under the glass.
