About this oil
Stop Gossip is the oil people use when the talk has gone too far: coworkers carrying stories to the boss, a neighbor spreading rumors, relatives picking a marriage apart on the phone. Its Spanish name, Tapa Boca, means to cover the mouth. People use it to ask that the talk die down and their name be left alone. It is used quietly, not to start a fight.
Its candle is purple, and many people light it on a Saturday. Whole cloves have long gone with it, kept in a small cloth bag or set beside the candle. The oil is purple, with a warm ylang and ginger scent. Once the talk quiets down, many people light a white candle with Peace.
Ways to use
- With a written prayer or photo
- On a small piece of paper, write what is being said, not who is saying it. Put a drop on it, fold it away from you and keep it under the candle.
- On a candle
- On a Saturday, put a few drops on a purple seven-day candle and ask, in plain words, that the talk stop.
- On charm bags, stones and medals
- Keep a few whole cloves in a small purple cloth bag at your desk or in your locker at work, and add a drop every Saturday.
- On doors and windows
- When the gossip is coming into the house, put a drop on the front door frame so the talk stays outside.
