About this oil
Intranquil Spirit is the oil people use when someone they love has pulled away and they want that person to think of them again, and to feel the pull to call or come back. The name comes from an old prayer to the restless spirit, el Espíritu Intranquilo, asking it to keep the person from resting easy until their thoughts turn home. It is close kin to the Lonely Soul, the Ánima Sola.
People usually start it on a Monday, the day set aside for the souls, and light the candle at night. Its candles are red, for love, and purple. Most people come to the counter with a name. The oil is purple, with a warm ylang and ginger scent.
Ways to use
- On a candle
- On a Monday night, put a few drops on a red seven-day candle. Say the person's name each time you look at the flame.
- With a written prayer or photo
- Write the person's full name on a small piece of paper and your own name over it. Put a drop on each corner, fold it toward you and set it under the candle, with their photo if you have one.
- With offerings
- Set a glass of fresh water beside the candle as an offering for the souls. Change the water every Monday while you keep the candle going.
