About this oil
Courage is the oil people use before something hard: a court date, a job interview, telling the family the truth, standing up to a boss, starting over in a new city. It is for the person who knows what they have to do and needs the nerve to do it. Most people buy it with a certain day already in mind.
It goes with a red or an orange candle, and many people light it on a Tuesday, the day the tradition keeps for strength and standing up for yourself. The lion has long been its symbol, for a steady heart. People light the candle the night before the hard day and carry a small charm on the day itself. The oil is orange.
Ways to use
- On a candle
- The night before the hard day, put a few drops on an orange or red seven-day candle and say plainly what you have to face.
- With a written prayer or photo
- Write down what you need to do and the day you will do it. Put a drop on the paper, fold it toward you and keep it under the candle.
- On charm bags, stones and medals
- Put a drop on a saint medal or a small stone and carry it in your pocket on the day itself.
- In the car
- Before you drive to the hearing or the interview, put a drop on the medal in the glove box.
