About this oil

Male Garlic, Ajo Macho, is named for the head of garlic that so many Mexican families and shop owners hang behind the front door, tied with a red ribbon. It is an old charm with two jobs: keeping envy and bad luck out of the house or the business, and keeping money coming in. People use the oil for the same two things, often on the garlic charm itself.

The garlic is often hung with a coin, a small horseshoe or a little prayer card. Many people put fresh oil on it on the first of the month. Its candle is white for protection, or green and gold for money. The oil is clear, with a frankincense and myrrh scent.

Ways to use

On charm bags, stones and medals
Put a drop on the garlic charm and on its red ribbon when you hang it behind the door, and again on the first of every month.
On doors and windows
Put a drop at the top of the front door frame, right where the garlic hangs, and one on each side.
In your wallet or business
Put a drop on the corners of your wallet or the cash drawer, and keep a small clove of garlic with a coin in the drawer.
