About this oil
Holy Death is the oil for devotees of Santa Muerte, also called the Santísima Muerte or la Niña Blanca. People come to her for protection on the way home at night, for work when there is none, and for a loved one in prison or far away. They also come to thank her for what she has already given. Her devotees say she turns no one away who asks with respect.
A white candle serves for any request, for giving thanks and for protection. Red is for love and gold for money. Devotees keep her altar with a glass of water, flowers, an apple or bread. In many homes her rosary is prayed on the first of the month. The oil is clear, with a frankincense and myrrh scent.
Ways to use
- On the altar and saint statues
- Put a drop at the base of her statue and on the candle in front of it, and keep her face and robe clean. Many devotees do this on the first of the month, when her rosary is prayed.
- On a candle
- Put a few drops on a seven-day candle: white for thanks or protection, red for love, gold for money.
- With a written prayer or photo
- Write your request to her in plain words, sign your name and keep the paper under the candle. When the favor comes, leave a note of thanks on her altar.
- With offerings
- When you change her water, put a drop on the flowers and on the rim of the glass. Keep the offering fresh.
