About this oil
Chango Macho is the lucky spirit of the botanica, a folk figure that grew out of devotion to Changó, the orisha of thunder and fire. People ask for his oil when luck has turned against them: a losing streak, a business gone slow, a stretch where nothing goes right. Gamblers, shop owners and people starting over keep him close.
His candle is gold, for fortune, and many people add a red one, Changó's color, for strength. Some set a red apple beside the candle as a gift. Chango Macho is about luck; devotion to Changó himself is a separate matter, guided by a santero. The oil is gold.
Ways to use
- On a candle
- When the luck turns bad, put a few drops on a gold seven-day candle, light a red one beside it, and set a red apple between them.
- On charm bags, stones and medals
- Put a drop on a lucky coin or a small horseshoe and keep it in your wallet or your pocket. Add a drop every week.
- In your wallet or business
- In a shop that has gone slow, put a drop on the four corners of the register drawer and on the front door frame when you open.
